Background.

Measuring the culture?

Since 1988 Bob Waisfisz and Geert Hofstede have analyzed organizational cultures. The work is based on Hofstede's work on country cultures. The results of the research and the experiences from the following improvement projects have been stored and serve basis for each new analysis.

You may recognize patterns in the functioning of an organization. Which are the meaningful ones? Hofstede model has recognized six independent dimensions, that are measurable, and serve as a basis for interventions.

Hofstede Model survey offers a structured and fast starting point for strategic change of the culture:

  • Planning the scope of the survey with the management.
  • The survey.
  • The management plans the strategic ideal.
  • Comparing the results with the ideal.
  • Planning interventions in participative workshops. The work from this on is naturally tailored.

The survey software incorporates the data and personal knowledge gathered by Hofstede and Weisfisz. It points out significant deviations and suggests interventions. The final conclusions are of course to be understood and decided by the organization itself.
