Why retrospectives?

Wisdom helps to decide. Retrospectives refine the experiences in the organization into knowledge and wisdom. Even, when a team is good in reflecting at everyday work, a dedicated retrospective is giving more.

Retrospectives shape the culture. The organization learns to learn. The atmosphere, interaction and decision making capability improve.

The course is based on experiential training. The interests of the participants guide the details. The training simulates a retrospective, which gives the opportunity to observe the actions of the trainer and the training group.

The goals, content and ways of working

You learn to prepare and facilitate a basic retrospective, and recognize the prerequisites of success. The emphasis is in transmitting the spirit of retrospectives and to practise the activities.

During the day we will go through the established phases of a retrospective, and practice activities. The course follows the established structure of the book Derby&Larsen:"Agile Retrospectives: Making Good Teams Great."

We will practice group decision making according to the book Sam Kaner:"Facilitator's Guide to Participatory Decision-Making."
