Agile Coach - Advanced Scrum Master
The role of the Agile Coach, or Scrum Master, is much more demanding than usually expressed.
This course gives the fundamentals for real coaching of the organization. You may expect immediate aha, making sense of what has been going on, and what to do next. More results will surface by time and practice.
Who?
Internal and external coaches and their sponsors; Scrum Masters, Agile coaches, Agile and Lean transformation leaders.
Technical consultants and subcontractors, who want to deliver extra added value on top of the technical contribution.
How?
The course is structured from the coaches perspective. We learn Lean and Agile by applying them
into the real problems of the real organizations. We approach creating change in three specific areas:
- The coach needs to create change, at individual, group and organizational level.
- The role triangle. Negotiating the assignment.
- Organizational culture. Changing the culture. Social complexity.
- Resistance, coping, defenses. Power.
- Conflict resolution. Human needs and feelings.
- The architecture of change.
- Changing the organization through building productive teamwork:
- Visual management, Scrum, Kanban, scaling up from the teams perspective.
- Practicing observation and reflection in the training group.
- Building teamwork at practical level. Sharing competence, workload and
leadership. Everyone in the team is a peer coach.
- Group dynamics and group development.
- Feedback and retrospectives. Facilitation.
- Understanding and working with the wider organization:
- Typical organizational patterns, like the conflicting
interests and the coordination chaos.
- The roles of the product and project management,
the product owner. The Solution domain and
the Customer problem domain. Coordination and decision making.
- Lean product development, pull, flow, queuing theory,
knowledge creation and waste.
- The flow of requirements, from the stakeholders to deployment.
- Scaling Scrum and Kanban.
- A3 and retrospectives in the large scale.
